Creating access to coaching and developing practitioners who drive meaningful change

about the foundation

The Aephoria Foundation exists to expand access to coaching and leadership development in South Africa.

We support individuals who feel called to work with people to guide, develop, and facilitate meaningful change within their communities, organisations, and broader ecosystems.

Our work is intentional. We prioritise supporting previously disadvantaged South Africans, with a focus on increasing access, opportunity, and representation within the coaching and facilitation field.

Through our programmes, we aim to nurture a diverse community of practitioners who are equipped not only with coaching skills, but with the awareness and commitment to create lasting impact.

What We Offer

Each year, the Foundation supports two groups:

Coach Development Programme

A fully supported journey for individuals who are serious about building a coaching practice.

This includes Level 1 Enneagram Training, mentorship from experienced practitioners, access to professional membership (such as COMENSA or ICF where appropriate), basic business support including a website and scheduling tools, as well as ongoing opportunities for learning, reflection, and community engagement.

This programme runs from May to November.

Level 1 Bursaries

We also offer 10 bursaries for individuals who want to begin their journey in coaching. This is for those who are curious, committed, and ready to learn.

Who This Is For

We are looking for individuals who are passionate about people development, want to make a meaningful difference in their communities or organisations, and are open to personal growth and self-reflection.

To be eligible, applicants should:

  • Be a South African citizen
  • Be 25 years or older
  • Have some exposure to coaching, psychology, facilitation, HR, or people development (formal or informal)
  • Show a clear commitment to personal growth, self-reflection, and inner work
  • Demonstrate a desire to create impact in their community, organisation, or sphere of influence
  • Be able to commit fully to the programme requirements and time investment

What We Look For

This is not about being perfect or fully qualified. We are looking for readiness, commitment, a genuine desire to grow, and a willingness to give back. If you are serious about stepping into this work, we will meet you there.

The application process is simple: complete the application form, submit your CV and motivation letter, shortlisted candidates will complete an assessment, and final interviews will be conducted.

Why This Matters

Coaching has the power to change how people see themselves, their work, and their future. But access to coaching and coaching development is still limited.

The Aephoria Foundation exists to change that.

We are building a community of practitioners who can hold meaningful conversations, create insight, and support real transformation.
